Beach Music Cruise-In

Beach Music Cruise-In, combining bands on the beach and cars on the boardwalk, blends the best of the “oldies” with dancing under the stars in a jam-packed blast to the past! Settle into the sand as the top Beach Music bands from up and down the East Coast descend on the Virginia Beach oceanfront in a nostalgic salute to the “good old days” of cool cars and hot tunes. Stroll the boardwalk to view classic cars, hot rods, antiques, and more.

A three-day series of free concerts is presented on a stage built right on the beach at 30th Street. Evening concerts on Friday give way to a full day of entertainment on Saturday and more daytime concerts on Sunday.

The car show feature turns the boardwalk into a local version of “Route 66,” with cars and trucks from yesterday and today competing for trophies and Best in Show cash prizes.

Individuals from throughout the region will display their autos. Hot rods, street machines, classic cars, and more will line the Virginia Beach boardwalk for several blocks, where thousands of car enthusiasts and families can view the vehicles in a beautiful beach setting.

The car show will be on Saturday, May 14, from 10:00am-4:00pm.

Registration fee for the car show: $15.00 in advance per vehicle / $25.00 day of show.

Car show schedule:

7:00am-10:00am, Check-in and day of show registration at the parking lot at 18^th Street & Arctic Avenue. ALL vehicles must check-in at the 18^th Street lot first!

10:00am-4:00pm, Show hours

4:00pm, Awards

4:30pm, Remove vehicles from the boardwalk

Prizes to be awarded: 12 trophies will be awarded, including Best in Show Overall; Best in Show cash prize of $250.

Please NOTE THAT VEHICLES ENTER THE BOARDWALK FROM 7:00AM-10:00AM ONLY on the day of the event. ALL vehicles must check-in at the 18^th Street registration lot first

The Beach Music Cruise-In concerts festival atmosphere is enhanced with beer and food served in tents on the sand alongside a sea of beach chairs and dancing couples! Boardwalk sponsors and vendors overlook the beach, luring visitors from the boardwalk into the fun and sun at Beach Music Cruise-In! A giant 20-foot inflatable jukebox on the beach towers over the fun as festival-goers kick off their shoes and dance their cares away on the sands of Virginia Beach.

Beach Music Cruise-In is the winner of the 2011 Industry Appreciation Award ("CAMMY") from the Carolina Beach Music Association.

Admission to concerts on the beach is free.
