At Chalk the Walk ARTsplosion, participants draw four-by-four foot chalk drawings right on the boardwalk! Chalk the Walk participants are asked to incorporate the announced theme in their work. 200 competitors complete chalk drawings to be evaluated by a panel of judges.

This event features up to 20 of the region's leading seafood restaurants serving their unique recipes. Based on tastings, there are two categories for best recipe winners, with three places in each. One category is decided by a panel of Hampton Roads food critics and the other – “The Peoples’ Choice” – by the general public.
