Virginia Beach, Virginia – 40 craft beers from over 20 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival Saturday-Sunday, October 22-23, 2011, at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.  Craft beer is made using a traditional process of blending the sugars from malted grains (such as barley or wheat), with hop flowers and water. The skill of the Masterbrewer brings out the desired aroma, color, mouth feel, foam and flavor qualities of the hops and malt through formulation of recipes and the fermentation of sugars into alcohol, carbon dioxide gas and other characters. After careful aging at just the right temperatures the beer is packaged and delivered to the consumer.

A $20 per person tasting ticket (plus service charges) includes a commemorative glass and unlimited tastings.  Tickets, if available, will be $25 at the gate.  Only a limited number of tickets will be sold for each day.

Enjoy live music on Saturday, October 22, by Two Dollar Bill Band (1:30pm-3:15pm) and Gina Dalmas & the Cow Tippin’ Playboys (3:45pm-5:30pm).  On Sunday, live music will be provided by Rylo (1:30pm-3:15pm) and Octopus (3:45pm-5:30pm).

Educational demonstrations will be provided by HomeBrew USA.
